Leatherhead Swans Gala - Oct 2025
Leatherhead Swans hosted their inclusive gala at Dorking Sports Centre on Sunday 12th October and Sunbeam was proud to have 12 swimmers entering a number of races including, 25m Backstroke, 25m Breaststroke, 25m Freestyle and 50m Freestyle.
Team Sunbeam had another fantastic night supported by our wonderful volunteers, giving up a Sunday night for this annual event.
Congratulations to everyone who took part and a huge thank you Leatherhead Swans yet again, for inviting us to be part of your fun and inclusive event.
Horsham Lions Swimarathon - March 2025
The annual Horsham Lions Swimarathon took place on 23rd March and Sunbeam were lucky to be given three lanes again this year.
It’s always very popular with our swimmers who enjoy the inclusive and supportive atmosphere and the chance to challenge their endurance as well as raise funds for charity.
Swimmers in groups of 6 per lane swim as many lengths as possible in 55 minutes..
This year, the Lions charity was the Phoenix Club and Sunbeam raised almost £1000. Half of the funds raised are kept by Sunbeam, and the other half is donated to the Lions nominated charity.
As always, this was a very fun event and, everyone smiled, had fun and supported one another. Well done Team Sunbeam!
Horsham Lions Swimarathon - March 2024
17 swimmers took part in the annual Horsham Lions Swimarathon on 24th March.
The relay event is open to any group to challenge themselves and swim as many lengths as possible in 55 minutes whilst raising funds for charity.
Half of the funds raised are kept by the group taking part, to put towards their club or community, the other half is donated to the Lions nominated charity. This year it was the Samaritans who received £836 from the great team efforts of Sunbeam swimmers.
Most importantly, everyone really enjoyed the day and working together with smiles all around. Well done Team Sunbeam!
Leatherhead Swans Gala - Nov 2023
On Sunday 12th November, an impressive 15 Sunbeam swimmers competed at the Leatherhead Swans inclusive gala at Dorking Sports Centre.
It was a fun packed night with medals all around in the events which included 75m Intermediate Medley, 25m Backstroke, 25m Breaststroke, 25m Freestyle and 50m Freestyle.
The squad showed real team camaraderie and supported one another fantastically, cheering, congratulating and helping one another from the moment we arrived to the end of the night.
Sporting their brand new shirts, the team looked really smart and were proudly representing Team Sunbeam. Well done to everyone who took part and a huge thank you to all the swimmers, spectators, volunteers, organisers, hosts and competitors from the other teams. We look forward to the next one.
